Taragarh Fort is gigantic architecture nestled in Bundi district. Also known as Star Fort, it was constructed in the 16th century. Inside the ramparts are huge reservoirs carved out of solid rock, and the Bhim Burj on which famous cannon is constructed. Built at an elevation of 1,426-foot, it houses a highly regarded painting gallery from where the Bundi style of mural painting was originated. P.s. the fort track is very steep and very difficult and that not worth at all. So only visit garh mahal and thats it.

Awesome place, a must visit for every Indian as we are only taught about mughals and their monuments are only promoted till now bit not about Hindu rulers, their dynasty and their monuments. It is time to know about real India and their culture and that is incomplete without visits to such places. For all true Indians know your heritage know your culture come to Rajasthan once. #tarahgarhfort #bundifort #fort #monument #heritage

The garh palace? is such a beautiful and magical place, even with the loss of all the glory today. The main entrance and the 'Diwan-e-aam' have some intricate carvings. The 'chitrashala' that is the painting??‍? school has some beautiful frescos depicting different scenarios from the hindu mythology as well as from the history of the kingdom of Bundi. You won't see hordes of tourists here, which makes the place look quite spooky. It is so unfortunate that such a gem is left in the ruins, due to no maintenance whatsoever... View: The top of the fort gives a panoramic view of the Bundi town. ??‍?‍????‍?‍????‍?‍????‍?‍????‍?‍????‍?‍??

Garh Palace of Bundi is a strong and Luxurious Fort, that was made to be defended during war. It also has beautiful interiors of the Badal Mahal and Fool (Flower) Mahal, along with Jhula Chowk. Chitrakala has Bundi style of painting works which had some distinctive feature. For instance, the flowing rivers, dense forests, lush green fields of Bundi region, dramatic night skies, a distinctive way of depicting water by light swirls against a dark background, and vivid movement. This style of indian miniature painting lasted 17th Century. This Fort gives you unique experience. The view of Bundi city from top of Taragarh Fort is simply mesmerizing. You can see the Fortress wall around all the hills surrounding Garh Palace.

As such Bundi is a small and dirty place but it has a gem in the form of Garh Palace. There is a entry ticket as almost all of it is still owned by Royals of Bundi. There is a small free parking near the entrance but you may find a irritating and rude woman claiming to be parking attendant. Beware of her, she is a fraud. There are strange rules as one can use mobile to take pictures and make videos but one cannot use selfie stick. Inside Garh Palace there are different palaces constructed by different kings. All worth visiting like Badal Mahal. King's throne made of marble is unique and amazing. There is also Chitralekha with beautiful garden, shivling and a gallery of Bundi's paintings. Chitralekha is maintained by Archeological Survey of India and paintings are stunningly beautiful. Also inside Garh Palace is the Bundi fort. The fort covers the whole of the hills which surround Bundi. Inside the fort one has to be very careful as wild monkeys are there and they do attack. Go in big groups and carry sturdy sticks. I loved Garh Palace, if you are unfortunate to be in Bundi due to some bad luck, you can still visit Garh Palace to redeem bad luck.

Entrance: There is a steep walk to reach the main entrance. Its advisable to take water bottle from the ticketing window as you wont find anything to drink or eat once inside the fort. View: The top of the fort gives a panoramic view of the Bundi town. Inside: Its more of a fort than a palace. A small portion of this monument is preserved while the rest is mostly in ruins. When we visited, it was being renovated. There is one garden in the entrance which is well maintained. Terrace: Terrace is a must visit to soak in the sun in winters. Here is where you can see the entire town and a nearby lake. Beware of monkeys and also honey bees as they build combs frequently. Staff: The staff is quite helpful and cautious and will help you with directions. All in all - must visit if you are in Bundi.
