β β β β β Had a bad experience of happy tails till now...Had taken hope (my retriever) to Dr.Ninad Manjure as hope had got fungal infection on his whole body..he gave some medicines but it didnt work...so i took him again after two weeks. Then he decided to take hopes skin samples for culture test. They said the reports will come in 10 days and will get back to us as they get the report .its been a month they haven't contacted me...i called them they say we will call you in 15mins and dont call back... this careless behaviour wasn't expected from them

β β β β β This hospital is built out of money looted from novice pet parents and through unnecessary tests and treatments. I will always review their horrible service no matter where they set their shop. Iβve had terrible experience with the incompetent doctors here :
1.I am a first time pet parent and my baby had a Grade 4 luxating patella at 3 months. We were associated with this clinic since our puppy came home and it was our first choice for his treatment. Although we had taken 2 more opinions before going ahead with this surgery, we shortlisted Happy Tails for its so called world class facilities and competent doctors. We got him operated under Dr Ninad Manjure (Orthopaedic surgeon) in dec. Post surgery, I always questioned Ninad on chances of reluxation and he maintained that this was very rare. Also he never prescribed any recovery protocols such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy unless specifically asked. The post surgery recovery involved 4 weeks of complete crate rest and controlled leash walks for 2 months thereafter. This is too much restraint for a puppy who should be enjoying his childhood. Nonetheless we trusted Happy Tails and abided by their advise. If this was not enough, he also developed complications like seroma, abscess and pin movements. All this while we continued our timely follow up appointments with Dr Ninad wherein he assured me that chances of reluxation are very rare. In March however we were shocked to discover that his patella had reluxated due to bone growth, this was diagnosed by Dr Deep Vasudeo (Petzone Mahalakshmi, where we had taken my puppy for hydrotherapy). Post this we consulted Ninad to reconfirm this. The fun happens here β Ninad says β I had told you earlier that this was Grade 4 Luxating Patella and there were chances of reluxationβ He advised to go in for another surgery to break the formed bone and put the kneecap back in its place (??!!). We questioned him β The puppy is still growing and if we operate again wouldnβt there be chances of reluxation again due to growth? Does that mean every 2-3 months we have to be on fire expecting a reluxation? To which He agreed and said we could do the operation after a couple of months. Iβm baffled here β Shouldnβt a competent doctor think of all factors before recommending recovery approach for his patients? OR Is it the pet parentβs prime responsibility to keep doing google researches and asking relevant questions? How can one revert from his earlier analysis and misstate facts on possibilities of surgery failing? Iβm amazed with this level of ignorance and incompetence from such a reputed profession.
Now for the second example
2.During his post recovery stage, my puppy developed diarrhea time and again. We consulted Dr Amruta Parulkar who scared the hell out of us by doing multiple x rays and a pancreatitis test. She was hell bent on proving that there was an obstruction which required barium tests and possible surgery, inspite of X rays clearly showing gases in my babyβs abdomen. Also he wasnβt vomiting, which is an obvious sign of obstruction. We stopped consulting her and referred his case to our nearby experienced vet who was of the opinion that the diarrhea was primarily on account of erosion of his gut flora due to multiple antibiotics he was on post his surgery and it was a matter of time that it would go away. Itβs been more than 2 months now and he is doing fine.
I have given same review on itβs another address as well and just to show public they care they have written an apology message on tht and asked me to contact them. They did not have the courtesy to call me even once even though the fact that their doctors used to keep contacting me for doing various tests on my baby. The surgery cost us 30k and our baby visited practically every week here which cost at least 1k every visit plus some unnecessary tests. Not forgetting the mental agony my baby and we went through. Shame on you Dr Karkare! For the sake of innocent animals I hope ur clinic continues but I pray you will never be happy and peaceful ever in your life

β β β β β The place is very well maintained and the staff is pet friendly but Dr.Karkare has been overhyped by the media, charges extensively for a minimal issue. The place has many good doctors but Karkare owns the place and thatβs the reason the staff will respect him. The place is good to get your pet checked and treated but my experience with Karkare has been horrible please avoid that overhyped βdoctorβ

β β β β β Took my 2 months old kitten (Martha) for an emergency at night and I am highly impressed with the way they handled my kitten and us as well, me and my friends were all worried and maybe crying too, but the staff not once told us to leave till she was stabilized and all the formalities were done and no urgency was shown at the paper works as well, right from the reception to the doctor everyone remained calm and empathetic. Emergency oxygen was given to her at the very moment which probably saved her life. Was lucky enough to be attended by Dr Nameeta, she is an EXCEPTIONAL doctor and we found out over time, Martha was admitted for 2 nights, they told us that that we can call anytime to check on her which I did twice and both the time Dr Nameeta gave me updates at 2 am and 5 am respectively and REALLY THANK YOU FOR THIS, but Martha had lost her complete muscle tonicity and I was not very hopeful. On the 3rd day morning 9am I was send the video by the hospital of her running around, they called me and told that I can take her home. And since then she has been in best of the health and I only take her to Happy Tails Chembur to Dr Nameeta she is one of THE BEST Vet in the city and I have seen lot of them, there was one particular incident which needs a mention as being a doctor myself I feel its very important to show empathy regardless of what the results are but Dr Bhageswari told me its of no point keeping Martha in hospital as she is "only eating and pooping so its a waste of money so take her home" She must be a good vet to other pets but that particular day she wasn't a good vet to Martha. Regardless of this I kept Martha for another day and Dr Nameeta advised me to keep her for one more night under observation and well her decision was very correct. Take your pet to this place and look for Dr Nameeta or Dr Rishikesh and you wont regret it.
