It is spread over a large area. It is a collection of several spots such as a zoo, a lake, a temple, a flower garden, a tunnel and the main Kathgola palace. One would require some time to cover the entire place and would enjoy their visit.

It contains a whole lot of things of that era and the best thing is you can literally climb up to the top floor as well as to the terace.

It's a beautiful palace built by famous erstwhile trader of Bengal, Jagath Seth. Located in Murshidabad this palace houses a zoo, a pond where ornamental fishes are found. It's has a temple and a waterbody where boating can be done. Non veg food is not allowed inside the premises. The famous Bengali film, Ek Je Chilo Raja was shot here.

Kathgola Palace was built in the garden premises of Raja Dhanpat Singh Dugar and Lakshmipath Singh Dugar. It is an impressive structure containing a central drawing room, a library, billiard room, bedroom and dining room. This historical palace was built by Lakshmipat Singh Dugar. It is said that once the garden had the most unusual black roses, but now it has mango trees only. There is also a statue of Michelangelo Inside the huge garden. The pool sides are beautiful providing natural ventilation. A must visit place in Murshidabad.

Tourist attraction. Historically relevant. Movie and soap opera shootings held her occasionally. Keep 1-2 hours for a full tour of this place. Tickets needed for entry, additional tickets needed to visit 1st and 2and floor of the palace. Dont miss out the garden and small zoo. Has clean toilets behind the pond.
