Narmada loves a male river called sonbhadra but accidentally sonbhadra started to love her maid river johila.
So maa narmada got angry and changes her way and flows just opposite to sonbhadra.That's a mythical reason why narmada is flowing to Arabian sea whereas all major rivers are flowing to bay of bengal.
