The beautification project included cleaning of the beach, removing encroachments of parked heavy vehicles and hutments, filling up the beach with up to five feet of sand as which was lost due to soil erosion, planting of trees, setting up pavements, garden furniture, a play area for children, and a 30-metre high viewing tower for tourists, that gives a panoramic view of the Arabian sea and the Bandra Worli sea link. With the Mahim beach clean-up and beautification project now complete, Maharashtra Environment and Tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray on Thursday inaugurated the site, which is now open for tourists.
The beautification project included cleaning of the beach, removing encroachments of parked heavy vehicles and hutments, filling up the beach with up to five feet of sand as which was lost due to soil erosion, planting of trees, setting up pavements, garden furniture, a play area for children, and a 30-metre high viewing tower for tourists, that gives a panoramic view of the Arabian sea and the Bandra Worli sea link.
The project cost Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ₹4 crore and was undertaken at the ward level, by the G-North ward, that has jurisdiction over this area.
Before the BMC undertook the beautification project, the Mahim beach was defaced with piles of garbage, broken retaining walls around the beach, and unauthorised parking of heavy vehicles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordinary Mumbai beach. Lots of trash everywhere & people continue to litter. Untreated sewage is directly dumped into the ocean and that's been happening since several years. You will find seagulls & egrets here. Be ready for some unpleasant surprises as several people come here exclusively to poop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is really a great place. It's located opposite the St. Michael church. The cleanliness of this place is very good. The best part of this place is a open gym for everyone at no cost. And the gym is located in the beach itself. The gym had eco-friendly equipment like dumbbells, rods, lat pull and many more. The this place has a tower near the beach you can see the best view form that place. This the best place in Mahim. It's very good for relaxation, walking and some exercises. You can click awesome photos here. This place had a wall which is full of art. A statue is also located in this place. So if want to relax just come at this place.
