Biased. If you have high breed pets they will treat nicely and if you go there with stray dogs or pet cats they will behave differently specially the staffs over there and in reception. Cats are treated badly. Poor experience .

I would obviously say, their patient-care unit is really mentionable. I took a street cat, seeing notorious condition of her rectal prolapsing. They did the operation, within 1000 INR. She became my member of family, and she became quite good. But on the day of cutting stitch, they didn't even use a tool, except a scissor. They charged 250(INR). I asked when the previous day, of operation, they told I don't have to give anything. And I don't really know, is it at all loyal to take 250 rupees, just for cutting stitch?? I would show you the bill even, of operation. I don't know is it right or not to take 1000 rupees, for operation of rectal prolapsing!! But above all, I would say, their care unit is really mentionable. They take the care of the patients quite well.

I have taken my cats in this clinic 4-5 times this year.. My overall experience has been really bad.. I have two female cats.. One of them was in heat for a long time.. So we were considering to spay her but they were not clear about the process and charges.. And every time we went to consult the vet(Sourav Banerjee), he prescribed medicine of exorbitant price and asked to do repetitive blood work.. The staffs were not professional enough and don’t know how to handle a cat, collect blood samples, check temperature etc.. The other cat I took was having blood clots while urinating.. Again the vet prescribed unnecessary and very expensive medications for renal health.. We later figured out that she was having her period.. And he didn’t even bother to tell us that.. Last time we went he prescribed even more expensive medicine.. And mind you, they ask for the prescription immediately you come out of the vet’s chamber.. So the clinic is actually selling these high end medications which are often imported, thus expensive but not always necessary.. So when we encountered the vet after finding out the price of a certain prescribed medicine and asked for an alternative, he suggested good Indian medicine that were 1/10th the price.. In a nutshell, this place is taking advantage of your and your fur babies vulnerabilities..

My experience is very bad. I went there once with my sick puppy and they literally killed her. Amol Roy is doctor and we told him every symptom. He didn't recommend us Parvo test and didn't gave medication of Parvo. He isn't a doctor you should go to. Kindly skip visiting moitri when amol roy is there. Go on days when Dr Sourav Banerjee is there. Simply I will recommend, if your dog is little sick with mild fever or loose motion or something minor, go there. But if your dog has major issues don't go. Their treatment is worse. If dog needs fluids, it should be given in within every 12 hours but moitri wont be able to give you that. Moitri isnt even a hygenic place. Ten dogs get treatment at a 10 feet room, no space . Staff is very less, same person is touching everyones dog without washing hands. Even patents owner touch others dog and cats knowing that everyone here is sick and can spread infection. There is a 24Γ—7 clinic available in Kolkata, if your dog has parvo, kindly go there. For vaccine and minor issue Moitri is fine. But still Moitri isn't the best and you better avoid that place.

This is a very very late review.. from my experience in 2014. I lost my first cat here..he was old and unwell, it was expected we may lose him..but I cannot forget how the person who was a helper there held him. He behaved as if my cat will bite his hand off, when he hardly had any strength to stand up. They injected him once for saline and he suffered a stroke. I would personally never forgive myself for taking him to Moitri..or to any veterinary institution at that point. I sincerely hope they have improved their services..and understand the animal's health before handling them in such an inhuman manner.

The doctor is a killer. I lost my pet dog because of using very high dose antibiotics and medicine. He didn't even bothered to receive the phone calls. His assistants are also irresponsible. He always prescribes very costly medicines which are only available in the medical store near his clinic. He doesn't even listen to the problems properly and doesn't communicate with patient's parents at the time of prescribing the medicines and seems that he has very high ego. When i told him about our dogs health being deteriorating, he said to stick to the prescription without listening to the painful condition of our doggo. the doctor prescribed medicines which could be fatal to the kidney causing chronic kidney failure. Our doggo was running towards the vet chamber, always happy , but after he prescribed his medicines second time, he started having congestion problem for nearly four days but he literally ignored all issues. if we had enough support both financially and mentally , we could have sued him to the court. We literally wish that he should also have the same fate as our doggo had because of his egoistic prescriptioning of medicines. We are your well wisher, please don't take your pet dog to that doctor if you want to save your pet.

For me this place is the best by far in Kolkata. Close to my place. Very cordial staff. Everyone was good with dogs and above all moderately priced. When I was travelling with my dog and I needed her health certificate, this was the only place that was well-informed of the regulations and also moderately priced. While some vets were charging Rs1600 for a health certificate!!! (Yes!!! that's preposterous), they charged Rs500. Asked the necessary questions, checked her vaccinations documents and only then thety issued the certificate.

The place was good 9 years ago. However 15-20 days ago, I took my kittens to the place for general checkup. One of the kittens eye got swollen and was watery due to some underlying infection. The doctor there felt no need to address the situation and said that she is fine. The next day the condition got worse and after much calling and requesting the front desk, finally antibiotics were suggested over phone. I wonder what good a doctor is if he is unable to diagnose by seeing symptoms. Every other layman today knows the name of 2-3 medicines but what makes a doctor unique is his/her ability to interpret symptoms. Disappointed. Would not like to visit anymore. And to add they should hire some decent attendants who know how to behave.
