One of the best fort I have visited in Maharashtra, to my surprise it was very well maintained. Naldurg fort is situated on Pune Solapur highway, precisely in Solapur district. The distance from Solapur city is 45 kms, 50 minutes journey. The tickets are - Rs.11for children above 5 year's and adults it is Rs. 21. It is spread across 126 acres. Also provides boating (peddle boat or power boat). Also inside the fort the electric vehicles are available to take the ride. It's costs Rs. 50 per person if you start from the gate. If you just want to take one way while returning back to main gate it costs Rs. 30. They also have stay option, which is Naldurg Resort. You can do online booking. The lake inside the fort is at another level. You must visit this fort . Thank me later ??

One of the biggest land fort in Maharashtra. Fort timings are 9am - 5pm, but it generally open till 6.30pm. Entry fees - 20 rs per person Car parking - 40 rs It takes around 2 hrs max to explore the whole fort. Once you enter the fort, one need to navigate through the walls to reach the Mahadarwaja. Once you enter through the 2nd Mahadarwaja, you enter the actual fort. There is also a facility of Electric car service for senior citizens (Rs.50) After walking for 10-15 mins on a large pavement, you reach the Upali buruj. It is a massive buruj with some 50 steps., there are 2 big canons at the top. One can also enter a small chamber inside the buruj after climbing down some steps near a canon. A small dam on river bori was build by Ali adil shah in 15th century. Boating service are available at two jetty along the dam reservoir. There is a secret chamber known as pani mahal. One need to climb down some 20 steps inside the dam wall. Another structure which resembles a grinder which use to work on hydraulic pressure. Ranmandal fort (Naldurg sister fort) is close for tourist. Don't miss the Naav buruj, which resembles 9 petel of buruj. It is a super massive buruj with canons attachment. There is also a huge well (tank) near the naav buruj. Main attraction of the fort is Nar - Madi waterfall. Monsoon is the best season the visit this fort. It is more of a tourist attractions for locals it seems. The authorities maintaining the fort premises has done a good job but more importance should be given towards maintenance of the fort walls and ruins inside the fort.

Beautiful place. But not properly managed. Major attraction is boating. Jet ski ride also available. If managed properly this could have been on world heritage tour list. A good example of the fact that we don't know how to preserve our heritage.

The historic fort is named after King Nal Raja.Situated in the town of Naldurg in Osmanabad District of Maharashtra. Naldurg is 50 km away from Solapur City . The fort's medieval style of architecture has influences of both Indian and Islamic designs. In the 14th Century the fort fell into the hands of the Bahamani's and later, the fort was taken over by Adil Shahi kings of Bijapur, who further increased and strengthened the fort defenses. Highlights of the Fort: 1. Historical structures inside this fort are Rani Mahal, Tylor's House, Rang Mahal, an Armory, a court building and an elephants stable. 2. It has a Mosque built inside which is still available for prayers. 3. The highest point of the fort and served as a watch tower is Upali Buruj . 4. Most beautiful and must visit feature of this fort is massive dam built over Bori river, constructed by the Adil Shahi's in 1613. The river water flows over the dam and forms a lake at the bottom, where boating facility is also available. Starts with 100 Rs boating facility . 5. There are few structural buildings inside fort. The most attractive of these structures is the Pani Mahal. There is a room inside the Pani Mahal, from which one can view the Magnificent Water fall.

Great place for picnic. Fort is very well maintained. Lots of fascinating things to see which amazes you. Great views. Great location to click pics for you gram. Boating here just completes the trip to here. There are 2 waterfalls. These are not natural waterfalls but created by the king who made it, which will make you feel what really royal is! Snacks and water is available inside the fort. To summarize, Naldurg fort is a great place for weekend.

A massive 126 acres though maintained pretty well but seems like a chowpatty beach inside with panipuri to gola. Boating inside available as well. History is not important to couple who frequent to this place for privacy and was a disgust to see such activities. No guards and over here as well no historians to explain the fort history. People sitting on cannons to click pictures did not find it amusing either where they gave in zero respect to the awesome fort.
