It is situated around the centre of city .Parvati Hill is a hillock in Pune, India. The hillock rises to 2,100 feet (640 m) above sea level. Atop the hillock is the Parvati Temple, one of the most scenic locations in Pune. The temple is the oldest heritage structure in Pune and was built during the rule of the Peshwa dynasty. For visitors, Parvati hill is also an observation point that offers a panoramic view of Pune. It is the second highest point in Pune (after Vetal Hill). The hill has 108 steps (considered a holy number in Hinduism) leading to the top of the hill where the temple is situated. The hill was owned by the Patil named Taware. Peshwa purchased the hill to build a temple of Shiva. The Devi temple was believedto be of Taware's kulswami whose angara was able to cure a leg ailment of Kashibai, mother of Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao.Thereafter, the Peshwa built a temple complex there

Parvati hill complex, built by Nanasaheb Peshwa. The complex has 4 main temples, namely of Lord Shiva (Devdeveshwar temple), Lord Vishnu, Vitthal and Kartik Swami; resting place (samadhi) of Nanasaheb Peshwa and Peshwa Museum. The museum has ancient artifacts and paintings of Peshwas' time. An regular walker can climb the hill approximately in 15-20 mins, but it's worth. ?

If you're a lover of history, you cannot miss a visit to the Parvati Hills in Pune that has the Parvati Temple at the top. The temple is closely associated with the Peshwas who managed the affairs of the Maratha Empire for nearly two whole centuries. As such, it's not just another temple, but a veritable feast of historical facts and anecdotes. The Parvati Hill houses three temples, a Peshwa museum and the final resting place (samaadhi) of Nanasaheb Peshwa. The entire complex is full of boards that have descriptions of the rulers of those times, their life events, the various battles they fought and their contribution to the growth of the Maratha Empire. You'll simply fall in love with this place if you are a lover/ student of history. Even if you're not a great fan of history, this place still has a lot to offer to you- especially the joy of the climb, the amazing city view from the top and garam-garam (hot) vada-pav that you can have at the restaurant near the temple. Highly recommended!!!

Place is good for morning and evening walk, locals use come to take a walk. Stairs are quite slanty due to which one can get tired while going up. From top the view is magnificent.

I have visited Parvati couple of times and it has always been a good and calm experience. You have stretched stairs to climb while enjoying the natural environment around. You can also roam on the whole mountain. Then at the top you will reach the temple which is maintained very well and kept clean. The thing you will enjoy most at the top of the mountain is the view of Pune city ?
