★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pune and the Peshwas have a significant relevance from the 1700s to 1818. The city of Pune speaks of the legacy of the Peshwa raj in every nook and corner. Pune was under the protection of the Peshwas until the death of Bajirao II and the Peshwa Museum on Parvati Hill is a gem that will make you revisit the Peshwa Era.The museum houses many artefacts and collectives of the Peshwa era sourced from various Peshwa Mansions. The collectives include everything related to the Peshwa rulers, from weapons, clothes, jewellery, sword, a bathing tub, utensils, drums, matkas, and riding attire to street lamp posts, locks, furniture, musical instruments, and riding attire used by royalty. You will find maps, a Peshwa family tree as well as paintings of imminent Maratha leaders like Nanasaheb Peshwa, Chimaji Appa, Bajirao Peshwa, Mastani, and Balaji Vishwanath. There is a box full of coins from the Mughal, Peshwa and British Era that will excite coin lovers and collectors. The coins are sourced from the Peshwa, Mughal and British periods and are quite rare and highly valued. You will also find medieval manuscripts related to the Peshwas, as well as some old and rare photographs of Pune city as well.Located right beside the museum is the Samadhi of Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshwa that pays homage to his contribution to the Peshwa raj. The museum is a walk through the glorious years of art, culture and civilisation that once was part of Pune during the Peshwa Era. It is an unforgettable experience that depicts the strength, patriotism and passion that the Peshwa’s lived with. A visit to this museum will not only reconnect you to Pune’s glorious, remarkable history but will also make you feel extremely proud of amche Pune!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good collection and display of historic things.
Nice place for newbies. So so place for a 1-2hr visit.
Display however is untidy. Lighting conditions are poor and you have to sometimes use mobile torch to see few things. Few paintings reflect Tubelight on it and you can't see details.
Following thing is mentioned based on 2 visits in past 3 years.
Dirty and unclean place. Had mosquitoes around while in there and Ants+spiders on shelves there. They charge entry fees but aren't taking care on maintaining things. Displayed historic cloths are accumulating lot of dust. Some info boards e.g. currency table display incorrect information (requires update over time). Staff is not courteous.
