Sarada Ma got married from this place when she was nine years old.
The temple is dedicated to the holy mother by Swami Saradananda on the third day of the lunar half of the month of Baisakh, also known as Akshaya Tritiya.
This was on the 19th of April, 1923. The mandir is named as Sri Sri Matri Mandir.
