Hotel Shreeman - Old Wine in a New Bottle Hotel Shreeman has recently undergone a drastic transformation from a gents-preferred watering hole to a family restaurant with soft lighting and efficient service. I was recently invited to sample their revised menu and it was definitely encouraging to see the efforts and thoughts put in. Cocktails A gin-based cocktail, the Rosemary and Elder Martini had elder flower syrup as a mixer which went surprisingly well with the alcohol. The rosemary twig on top was a nice touch. Appetizers The Mutton Sukkha had lamb chunks marinated in masala. Overall a decent dish, however the meat was slightly chewy. On the other hand, the Chicken Malwani sported some lovely flavors. The Tawa Prawns was another dish that I personally liked. Well cooked, it had the typical spicy Indian masalas for the taste punch. Mains For mains, we tried the Veg. Kasturi, Butter Chicken and Gavran Chicken with Indian breads for company. The Veg. Kasturi is a typical mixed veg. dish prepared in tomato gravy and topped with white cream. The veggies were assorted and cooked nicely in the gravy. The Butter Chicken was delicious with perfectly cooked tender chicken chunks and a perfect consistency gravy with a hint of sweetness. The Gavran Chicken Sukka pieces were served with gravy separately. I would order the dish just for the gravy as well. A perfectly made gravy using chicken broth and pieces which imparted some wonderful flavors to it. The sukka pieces too were well cooked. Dessert The Blueberry Cheesecake was a work of art. Perfect proportions of the crunchy base, the actual cheesecake and the filling. Gorgeous to look at and scrumptious to taste. This, I suspect, was outsourced from the German Bakery next door. ? All in all, Hotel Shreeman has definitely amped up their game with a brand-new look and theme to the place. The new cocktail bar is well equipped to whip up some delectable drinks for the patrons.

Delicious food, very nice service, must visit. Mutton is best, try dry sukka mutton, rassaa. Good menu, lot's of variety in dishes. Chicken in sweet gravy is also a recommendation. Evening is crowded, call before visiting and book a table. Outside sitting is preferred. Backside has more spacious sitting area. Parking will be issue for four wheeler. Prices are above average compared to others places in same area, but quality is good, so justified. Service by staff is good, owner is also helpful.

Supposed to be an old go to place in the Kothrud area, was invited here for a tasting. It's located next to German Bakery, so your dessert scene is sorted. If you happen to go here, here's what I'd recommend- The cheesy poppers, one of the best starters we had that day , these burst in your mouth with the ooey gooey goodness. The mutton kebabs , cooked to perfection with that great meat taste. The paneer Tikka is also pretty good, soft and cooked to perfection. They have a good selection of mains and you're sure to have an hearty meal here.

Hotel Shreeman, Paud Road, Kothrud For many kothrudkars, ye naam hi kaafi hai. Deven says he has visited this place min 500 times, that's huge! I told him that's fine but I was lucky to visit this renovated one before him ? and yet again kothrudkars are fortunate..... So, Shreeman has got a new avatar and a new neighbor too. With all the new ambience, it is perfect for a family or a friends meet, they are still awestrucking their customers with great food. We started with some starters which went to many later ? Chicken #Rojali Kebab Boneless Chicken wrapped over minced chicken and grilled to perfection. The mildly spicy coating complimented the kheema filling well. The chicken was tender, was flavourful and aromatic. Definitely for me it was a good start to shravan ? Chicken #Malwani A Sneak Thief for me. This boneless chicken kebab was lil spicy than the earlier one. The marination of this compared to above was distinctly different and mouth watering. The grilled also seemed different but added a value to it. Was tempered with curry leaves, which gave an added flavor to the kebabs. I've had malvani curries but it was my maiden take on the kebab and a successful one. #MustTry #Mutton Tikki These soft mutton tikkis were extremely appetizing. That cheese hint gave it a good hit. Rest was fine. #Pomfret Rawa Fry This didn't appeal to me at all. They need to improve on the marination and cover part of the fish. Feedback given to the manager on visit. #Mushroom 65 and #Paneer Banjara kebab, both of the veg starters were also delectable. Mains #Veg Kasturi This mix veggies bhaji was little sweet to start and left a hint of spiciness at the end. This was a good makeover to a veg main course gravy. Appealed much better than usual veg gravies. Was cooked with a melange of spices and veggies. Mutton #Sukka This meat dish was equally delicious and quite spicy. The meat was tender and cooked well, was easy to chew. Gavran Chicken #Curry A popular rural style chicken curry went well with Bhakri/Roti. This was okay types. Can be improved. #Egg fried rice, this was exactly the way I like it. Simple yet tasty. No show sha ? Baked #Blueberry Cheesecake, they say all is well that ends well ? This definitely was the show stopper for the evening. With great neighbors come great stuff, as its next to German bakery they serve all desserts from their here at shreeman, that's cool. Glad they do. I usually don't like cheese cakes but this proved to be an exception for the dislike. This baked cheese cake was too good. The blueberry sauce used was not sour and was perfectly sweet. As it was baked I liked it even more. I'll say just spoil yourself with this extremely yummy blueberry cheesecake. Overall, had a yummy foodie dinner with quick service. Bhai, ek baar jake aao new Shreeman mein. #HighlyRecommended

Recently went into renovation, the renewed Hotel Shreeman wears a modern ambience as it resumes it services for the Punekars. Boasting on huge Goodwill in Kothrud, this place isn't new. Being now family centric, the venue is looks welcoming if you're in here with the families & friends. Having both indoor & outdoor seatings, it also has an air conditioned section on the floor above, which is isolated from outside chaos, making the experience even pleasant. As mentioned the ambience is pretty & modern, allows one to dine in with more comfort. In drinks I had Gauva Mary, which was amazing. Their Passion twister, Cremi Hazel, Melito are good. Coming to starters, their signature dish - Chicken Rosali Kebab was so good. Topped with cheese this boneless chicken starter, has a delicious stuffing wrapped inside. This is worth giving a try. Chicken Malavani was next up, & this coconut flavour dominating dish was great. Prawns fan any? Their Prawns Tawa fry would make you happy. A spicy blend to it made it delicious. Paneer Banjara consists of soft grilled panner was great too. In the main course, Gavran Chicken curry was too good. Maharashtrian styled chicken coupled with bhakari was the highlight of this course. You don't get this kind of authentic curries (as everyone manipulates it to make look delicious) these days. I would recommend this one. Butter Chicken was up next & it didn't disappoint. There is still a never ending debate I get to hear, whether it should be sweet or spicy? Well, everyone is making one in their own way! Mixed vegetable subji called Veg Kasturi was the last in the lot. It was okay, but according to me it needs some improvement. Before I wrap up, I went on to try a couple of desserts. The first was Blueberry cheesecake. And it was amazing. The German Bakery Sachertorte - a rich in chocolate kind of dessert offered a great finish to the a scrumptious meal. Service here at Shreeman was surely commendable, the waiter staff was very quick to respond & asked if customization is needed before preparing dishes. Overall this place is looking great & serving well. This should be a good place to visit in Kothrud. Scores (our of 5): Food -4 Service - 4.5 Ambience - 4

Ideal for easy on pocket, desi brand "watering hole". Food is decent too. Overall value for money. (Though not a family restaurant in true sense.) But a good place to chill out to enjoy food and drinks
