★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful and historical temple near Ratan babu's ghat, since the history of the temple dates back to the time of Sri Ramkrishna. He requested Mathur Babu, one of his ardent devotee and son in law of Rani Rashmoni to arrange anna bhog for all the 10 form of devi Kali of the temple. A quiet , well maintained and serene place good for meditation.

Dashamahavidya is the 10 different manifestations of the devine energy according to the Bhagavat Puran.. Lot of people in Bengal are unaware of importance of puja in Dash Mahavidya temple & particularly the presence of this dashmahavidya temple other than the local people.
There is two dasmahavidya temple in bengal. The most famous one is this one in Cossipur near Ratan babu ghat & other one is in Shibpur Howrah. Lake Kalibari in Southern Avenue has few form of Dash Mahavidya deity. Near Garia station also has Tripureswari temple. This Cossipur dusmahavidya is very well known because legend says Sri Ramkrishhna paramhansha dev sent Mathurbabu(Son-in-law of Rani Rashmani Devi)here for puja when he was going through trouble with his business, marriage and health. Being a saint Sri Ramkrishhna could have done special puja for Mathur babu in Dakhineswar but he didn't do that but advised Mathurbabu to come here.
