★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was established in 1884 by the great patriot Sri Surendranath Banerjee. It is affiliated by the University of Calcutta. It is an undergraduate college. First it was acquainted with Ripon College. In 1948-1949, it was renamed as Surendranath College. In 2017, the NAAC accredited the college Grade as B+. Surendranath Law College was established in 1885. It's called that it is one of the oldest Law college in India. The Women Section of the college was established in 1931. Surendranath Evening College was established in 1961. It is an undergraduate college.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just visited this place around 3a.m. for delivery purpose.usually it was closed then.but from public opinion specially from a student perspective the college has a very good reputation n also it located in a very good place.just 5 minutes walking distance from sealdah and beside M.G .road which is the connector of Sealdah to howrah

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a general college under Calcutta University at M.G Road, very near to Sealdah Station. Most of the B.A, B.Sc, B.Com Subjects are available in this college. This college also known Morning, Evening & Day college separately under this one building and different students are divided into three shifts as they are admitted. Surendranath College for Women just attach to this college. Bangabasi College also very near from this college.

Executive loungeEdit
IRCTC opened the first Executive Lounge at this station, which is the first in any of the main stations in the state of West Bengal. In 2019, on the occasion of Bengali New Year, the lounge was opened at the station. It is built on the first floor of the station, covering around 2,500 sq ft area, having free Wi-Fi, showers, foods, newspapers, TV, cloak room facilities available. Though on the first floor, it is next to the elevator to make it accessible to wheelchair users.[9][10]
The station also have a first class air conditioning waiting room and also resting area with bedding facilities.
Google provides RailWire free high-speed Wi-Fi.
The station also have many IRCTC food court and restaurants like Haldiram, Jan-Ahaar, mio amore, wow momos and many others.
Recently Amazon India launched an Amazon kiosk in the non-ticketing zone, from where passengers can pick up their parcels.
The station also has a large reservation ticketing zone where passengers can book their tickets in advance.
