The Great Buddha Statue is a big attraction of Bodhagaya. It can be visited on foot in continuation to visit of series of temples in Bodhagaya. The height of the statue of bhagwan buddha is 64 feet, lotus height is 6 feet, pedestal height 10 feet, thus total height from ground is 80 feet. Here bhagwan Buddha is sitting in Dhyan mudra. The statue was inaugurated by 14th Dalai Lama in 1989. The place gives a great pleasure and peace.

The Great Buddha statue is one of the popular stops on the Buddhist pilgrimage. The statue is 19.5 m high representing the Buddha seated in a dhyana mudra, on a lotus in the open air. The Statues of Ten Great Disciples of Buddha stand on either side of the Great Buddha, as if protecting or following him.

The Statue is great but it's too crowded a place. But it is one of the most popular Buddhist Pilgrimage Place located at Bodh Gaya. The Great Buddha as it is called is around 64 feet high representing the Buddha seated in a meditation pose on a lotus flower known as Dhyana Mudra.
