★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mostly used by passengers who have to travel by metro as rabindra sarobar station is within 2 minutes of walking distance from there. Have food stalls on the platform starting from biscuits to jhalmuri to ghugni to chop. The only negative part is that while going from budge budge side to Tollygunge, have to walk long distance from one platform to another through railway track which is also very risky for aged people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a most beautiful station in South Kolkata. It is just between New Alipore and Lake Gardens Railway Station. We can see the beautiful sceneries of Rabindra Sarobar Lake from this station which is most attractive. There are Rabindra Sarobar Metro Station just attach to this station. The Lake Gardens Railway Station very close from this station, and the distance between this two station is shortest about 300 meter only. All the local trains passes through this station which are comes from Budge Budge and Majerhat Railway Station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tollygunge railway station is located at 22°30′28″N 88°20′51″E. It has an average elevation of 9 metres (30 ft).
In 1890 129 years ago, the eastern Bengal railway constructed a 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in) wide broad guage railway from sealdah to tollygunge. Electrification from sealdah to Tollygunge was completed with 25 kV AC overhead system in 1965–66.
Tollygunge railway station falls under sealdah South budge budge branch line. under the jurisdiction of Eastern Railway zone of Indian Railways. Tollygunge railway station is one of the busiest railway stations of Sealdah railway division. More than 45 pairs of E.M.U. local trains pass through the railway station on daily basis.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The overbridge is in the wrong place. It's at the end of the 1st platform so anybody who wants to cross the platform they have to walk around 5 minutes to catch the overbridge. Otherwise they have to cross over the rail line and its risky.
