★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the place which really transform the people. I have done my first vipassana 10 days silent retreat at Dhamma Ganga. It is on the bank of Ganga beside Baro mandir. It was donated by some businessmen to Dhamma ganga trust in 1988, it used to be a private property. Its campus is not that vast as compare to other vipassana centre and little bit of sound pollution is also there which you can neglect but the spiritual environment, dhamma sevak and disciplined routine will made your experience and transform your life like never before. It is free of cost and I recommend it to every curious spiritual seeker to gave 10 days of his life to learn this ancient techniques.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seems like an amazing place from my mother's experience.
Amazing centers with amazing people from India and abroad. Hygiene stay. Healthy food. All for free. Plus the course which is life transforming.
But it's a pain to go and drop her there at the center. Everytime I go there I get my car scratched. There is no way to reach the center, even in a mid-segment car.
The lanes are so narrow and are filled either with arrogant owners who will park their cars with no space left for anyone else.. Or with goons driving auto rickshaw.
The center is run by a rich businessman. I wonder why can't he build these centers in easily accessible places? May be he can build lesser centers.. After all there's no competition to build the center right?
If it is actually a charity, why not do it in true sense?
So in a nutshell, once you're inside the center it is amazing but you need to go through the hell to be there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Vipassana Center is very peaceful and quiet, located directly on the Ganga. As well as the teachers and the Sevak and Sevikas were very helpfull in the Course. As a new student I had to share a little but cosy room with attached bathroom (western toilet and hot water) with another new student. I can only recommend every adult to make a Vipassana Course at least one time in their life and to spend as much as they can as a donation after completing the Course, so other students can come and benefit from it, especially those, who can not afford to give money. It is really complete on Donation basics! But you have to work really hard on your discipline to benefit for body and soul from 4 am. till 9:30 pm. Shanti ist also the nature within the Center ...
