It is a junction. Good place around market. One has to pass to this place to enter Mahabaleshwar.

A landmark historical place in South Mumbai. Recently renovated 2 years back with polised wrought iron and cast iron. It has iconic large lampshade that are a treat to watch. Need to be well maintained and clear the slum dwellers near it, that tarnish it's magestic Beauty.

The iconic heritage landmark called “Khada Parsi” at byculla bridge. If we compare the present picture with the original, we will come to know the state of utter neglect. There was a fountain at the bottom just like Flora fountain which is dry and does not work anymore. One the lamps has been stolen and has never been replaced. The hawkers sit around it. Due to the increased pollution from the vehicles, its brass work has been corroded.

The local ward office said that they cannot ensure piped gas supply for the lanterns without the approval of the fire brigade. A letter has been written to the fire brigade, which is yet to issue an NOC

one of the heritage statues of mumbai . presently located at Byculla Fire Brigade junction. the statue is made of bronze and was erected in the memory of cursettji maneckji , a Parsi business doyen, by his son in 1860. the decoration and the pillar on which it stands are beautifully designed in bronze. the statue was erected at Nagpada junction and later shifted to the present location. BMC has carried out restoration work of the statue to remind its past glory. the statue though is located at a very busy junction and its beauty cannot be seen unless you visit in the night or early morning. the chandeliers are not working since long time.

After over two years of tedious restoration work, the iconic 150-year-old “Khada Parsi” statue, a Grade I heritage monument in Mumbai. The 40-feet tall, cast-iron monument has a statue of Seth Cursetjee Manockjee (1763-1845), a nineteenth century Parsi businessman-education reformer, perched atop a Corinthian pillar with sculptures of four mermaids surrounding the base.
