★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This railway station is famous for the length of it's platform. It is third largest platform in the world with a length of 1072.5 metres. It is one of the elite station of South Eastern Railway. The platform is well maintained. All the passenger facilities are available here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a pass through station not a terminal one. Used to be one of the Railway Station with he longest platform. But no more bragging inthis regards. The system is average over here at times proper announcement along with display board of the trains with serial wise arrangements of the coaches are available and at other times it's not. So it's a 50-50 kinda order round here. Rest assured things are still developing hopefully in th long run will fetch up with a more modern railway system. Proper branded food plazas aren't available here. It's not much busy like the terminal stations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really it is main junction station between eastern railway to all over India. It's really beautiful and that nostalgia of the buildings is till there. The main thing that is nice in Kharagpur station is that the security in the station every time when I travel through Kharagpur the female GRP used to asked the women if they are alone or not then provide a helpline number for the women safety. That I noticed every time. Your journey will be relaxing after hearing this things when you cross that station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This railway station is one of the best stations I have ever visited. It has wide platforms with great sitting arrangements. It has wheelchair ♿accessible entrance. A person with wheelchair can enter to the station premises and access elevator to reach his or her destination platform. Other than this escalator and stairs are also available. All platform have plenty shops for foods (e.g. kachori, rice, chips, cakes, biscuits etc.). All together this railway station provides good facilities to the passengers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kharagpur is the world 3rd longest railway station with a length of 1,072.5 metres (3,519 ft). It ws one of the oldest station is south eastern railway which has more than 100 yrs old history.
It is also the busiest junction station in South Eastern Railway Zone after Howrah. Hence, it is termed as Gateway to South Eastern Railway.
The station is well maintained clean and well organised.

Connectivity to roadway vehicles like ricksaw, bus, trucks, rent cars, taxis, autos are always available. 116 kms from Howrah stn. and 120 kms. from Kolkata. Nice railway stn. with high passenger holding and transporting capacity. Thank you. ?
