★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lohangi Pir is located close to the Vidisha Railway station. It is located at an elevation and has ruins of a mosque and temple with a few Jain statues. One gets a nice view of Vidisha town from here
To our surprise, Lohangi turned out to be name of the stone which is placed right in the heart of the city with close vicinity to the railway station.
Do visit this small hill in the heart of Vidisha town for magnificent view. It features a Tomb and Medieval Temple. I used to visit this place with friends in my school days, and I used to wish that government should spend some money on this place, and recently, during my last visit in November 2015, I saw lot of improvements (Grass, benches, lamps, railings have been installed, and stairs have been repaired). Few more improvements would make this a great tourist attraction.
