★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Real honour to see that ASI and MP tourism (I think so ?) have preserved this UNESCO heritage site.
Things here have pretty old scripts and carvings from as old as 2nd century B.C. amazing and surreal experience !
You can also see the site in our Rs 200 currency note

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A peaceful place to explore yourself through teachings of the almighty Buddha... Spend some time there alone or with your family.. Yes it's a tourist place for the world now but it's symbolises more than that...
It is well preserved and you feel so good once you are there, It shows the art and craftsmanship of the olden era.
Do visit it if you are near to Bhopal.. I suggest to go around afternoon and evening time to catch some beautiful sunsets..
P.S Do not miss the Light and Sound Show in the evening...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A site with huge historical significance. If you take a tour guide he/she will help you realize the biggest tragedy in Indian history, Buddhism originated in India but it is no longer the mainstream religion.
Other than that, it is a well maintained archeological site which is considered a world heritage. Must visit for a peaceful getaway.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible place to visit. Established by King Ashoka approx 1 BC and upgraded by a series of Kings over the next 3 centuries before it fell to ruins and was finally restored.
Definitely take a tour guide and he will run you through the history of the place, the various Kings who contributed to it, and the stories of the Buddha and the Jataka tales carved on the entry pillars.

Amazing example of India's architectural marvel, one of the most celebrated historical monuments.
Completely loved spending time there, the weather was so amazing and on top of it started raining.
This place is so picturesque, and surrounded by mountains.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A place that shows peace and horror. Peace, sculpture of Gautama Buddha and horror, how heads were destroyed. Beauty and man made marvel. Well maintain and neat. Don't forget to enjoy light and sound show, which starts at 7 pm. Ticket 100/- per head for person above age 12 for light and sound show.
