★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First Sikh to occupy the position of Commander of Indian Army and First Citizen of India, Giani Zail Singh, popularly known as Zail Singh only, encompasses in his life the history of almost eight decades (5 May 1916-25 Dec 1994) and also known for witnessing three important things in his life:- Operation Blue Star, Assassination of Indira Gandhi and Anti-Sikh Riots alongwith using Pocket Veto first time by a President to oppose Post Office Amendment Act. Known as Indira Gandhi Loyalist, he served also as Prime MInister of Punjab before assuming the post of President of India. This memorial is located inside the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal which is well maintained and clean with all greenery. It is near by Raj Ghat and can be reached by taking Public Transport.
