Ohio Hospital - Kolkata

In emergency as soon as u admitted,within 10-15 minute the junior doctors & staffs will tell u to admit the patient ASAP. The motto seems to be only make money of u. The treatment in emergency within an hour will cost u round about 6-7 thousand with only primer treatment.The hospital is overpriced.but only one option near by uniworld & shapoorji housing.

Happy with the treatment. Dr. Saha, Dr. Roy and Dr. Laskar treated the patient for cirrhosis of the liver, low hemoglobin, and polyps. The hospital staff is also very helpful. When I could not visit the patient during visiting hours, Shoheli helped me coordinate with doctors over the phone and kept me posted on the patient's conditions and needs. Nurses were thorough in explaining the aftercare, medicine prescription, etc. Shyamal (billing department) made sure to send me a copy of the bill/expenses on a regular basis. Lastly, Aritra at the pharmacy was very detailed oriented and carefully marked meds dosages etc.

The services that I received from Ohio Hospital was excellent. I would like to share my feedback for services of the hospital was very good.The behaviour of Floor Coordinators were very polite, humble and soft spoken. The Operations Person Mr. Shyamal was very helpful.I'm very thankful for their quick service process. I'm overwhelmed by the excellent behavior and treatment of Dr Soham Bhattacharya(Gen. Surgeon). Nursing Care and their behavior was so good and polite. Really satisfied! Thank you so much.

Worst Hospital for Emergency Patients. if you’re going at midnight for any emergency, the doctor and staff here are too careless to bother you. The night doctor was least interested in treatment and was inside his room and kept avoiding. Doctor and staff keep insisting of getting admitted and started treatment only when agreed for admission.

What I liked- The behavior of the staff(called GRE) is good. The premises are clean and Emergency services are good. Billing procedure is also satisfactory. What I disliked- However, there is shortage of nurse and staffs at the ward. Patient tried to call support staff several times but they did not respond well, as they were outnumbered by patients.

The hospital overall is good. The location is an added bonus. The personal attention given to my father is commendable and the communication and transparency is impressive. I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness level which I did raise with the housekeeping and the head of administration. Good part is it was immediately taken care of. ICU should be cleaned and sanitized at least 3 times a day to safeguard patients from catching secondary infection. All other areas with high footfall needs to be cleaned as frequently as possible. The dialysis unit is a true example on how it should be - super clean and well managed. My father has been regular to the unit last almost 4 years. It’s affordable and doesn’t run like a factory like in most populated hospitals. The ICU gets a little chaotic so supervisors need to keep that decorum & instill that in the team and keep voices low. There could be more experienced nursing staff added to the team. I didn’t see many experienced faces. The team is enthusiastic and motivated so the management has an opportunity to invest and enhance the staff skills and expertise. The population in Newtown is the urban upper middle class - if you want them to come to Ohio invest a little. The food quality could improve in the ICU. The single private room food options were decent. Hot soup in flimsy plastic glasses - not acceptable. The whole world knows hot liquid in plastic is the worse! It is evident there is scope of improvement and the management and board will miss opportunities to expand if they don’t invest in their people.

This hospital is very clean and tidy. And the work of all the staff and nursing mam is very good. All systems and procedures are very good. The outside ground & parking area is very clean & usable. Overall excellent????
