A beautiful structure made with mix of several cultural influences, with Bishnupur's very own 'Pora matir' bricks. As name suggests, it was a stage for Ras, with 108 murtis of Radhakrishna in between the arches like structured gates. Also, if u are going to Bishnupur, do visit this place FIRST ,as the ticket you get from the counter here, allows u to visit the remaining 8-9 spots in Bishnupur. Also u can take a local guide if u are in Bishnupur for the first time. They charged us ₹350.

Place is truly historical and shows Indian culture to the world. But the guides are not fully equipped with informations. They mingle their fanciful story with real history.

Rasmancha, the oldest brick temple was established by the King Hambir in 1600 AD. The majestic temple is architecturally so unique and unparalleled that it is one of its kind in the whole Bengal as well as the country. You will get to witness a heritage that is enthroned with a pyramidal superstructure and is blessed with three circumbulatory galleries, tranquil pillars and mysterious arches with terracotta lotus motif. In the presence of daylight, when you will be walking through the galleries, you will feel history whispering in your ears by the language of light and shade.
