★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This review has been long overdue. I have been taking my son who is now 6 plus years old to Samvaad since Feb 2020. A little background- he is on the ASD Spectrum and had taken speech therapy from a centre in a reputed Children’s hospital for a year before he started at Samvaad. He had also gone to CMC Vellore for an inpatient programme. We tried another very reputed centre in Kalyan Nagar for a month. I had to pull him out as parents were not allowed to be present during the sessions and I was not comfortable with that. Although these places helped him in many ways, his speech never improved. He was struggling. That is when I decided to meet Radhika Ma’m at Samvaad. I was convinced with her approach and decided to give a try.
Pros:
1. All the therapists are very well trained and know what they are doing. I have had three different Therapists - Ashwini, Sowmya and Aparna and they are all good. I have never felt disappointed. This is not the case in other centres. Samvaad makes sure that every single therapist is good.
2. They very meticulously maintain records and note down data in every single session.
3. Most important - their way of teaching doesn’t stress out the child. My son always looks forward to his sessions. There is absolutely no threatening, etc. Children are made to genuinely feel happy. Thus parents also don’t feel pressurised or depressed.
4. Parents have to sit through the sessions and are educated to learn to work with the child.
5. There are senior therapists like Suchi ma’m who supervise the therapists and give valuable inputs.
6. They have multiple centres across Bangalore. So centre transfer is manageable.
7. Radhika ma’m doesn’t give false promises. But from our experience, we could see progress every single month and that is what matters to us.
Cons:
1. It is more expensive than other centres but I felt that the value the therapists bring to the table is immense.
My son is still taking therapy at Samvaad. I will update the review after a year :)
