★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Shish Gumbad is a tomb built during the time of the Lodi dynasty of the Delhi Sultanates. The building is a highly symmetric square shaped structure topped with a islamic dome. The building is an early example of fusing of regional style of North India with the newly arrived Islamic style of the Lodi conquerers to form Indo-Islamic style. The exterior of the building is highly influenced by the style of architecture of Hindu temples such as columns, capitals, brackets and lintel beams. While the interior is unmistakably islamic with niches, floral patterns and Arabic inscriptions. Also inside are tombs of unknown persons.
The building is located inside Lodi Gardens and looks very pretty thanks in part to the well tended gardens, lush location and that it stands on a low hill. So pretty that it’s a popular location for photos for locals and wedding couples alike.
Worth visiting along with all the order architectural ensemble of Lodi monuments in the gardens.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lodi Garden is one of the most adventurous places to visit in Delhi for free. It's is build after the Sikander Lodi, second Emperor of the Lodi dynasty. Sikander Lodi Tomb is here and Bda Gumbad is also here. Lodhi Garden has many other attraction too like Rose Garden... Herbal Garden and Bonsai Garden... It has its bird Century too where you can see ducks, cranes and other birds. It has big lake too where you can sit and enjoy fountains. It's such a beautiful experience to sit there and watching fountains flowing. You can watch fish flocks too in the lake. There is Sheesh Mahal too. Overall the place is a must visit and The best time to visit is early in the morning or evening after 3 PM

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shish Gumbad(glass dome) located in Lodhi Gardens opposite Bada Gumad looks similar to it but is different in orientation. It has ceramic tiles outside which gives it its name. You will find some unnamed graves inside this tomb. The architecture is appealing and there are always birds chirping and singing inside which make you feel they are singing inside yoir head with the echoes.
But like the Bada Gumbad this place is also in ruins. I wish government took measures and save these gems in the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shish Gumbad or Glazed Dome is one of the monuments inside the Lodhi Garden.
There is no charge, neither to enter the garden nor to visit the monuments inside. As a matter of fact, on any given day, there is at least one photoshoot or pre-wedding shoot going on here.
The stone with the legend about the monument is itself not sure about it's provenance, the reason for its construction, nor its importance!! It however suggests that one of the graves might be that of Sultan Bahlol Lodi, the first of the dynasty.
There are several graves inside, so it probably has the tombs of some other important dignitaries of the court of Sikandar Lodi.
