★ ★ ★ ★ ★ amazing experience.very well done up lobby, passge and well laid out and lit rooms.spacious room comfortabl e bed and prompt room service..clean and contemporary toilet fittings. serene pool garden .excellent arrangement by concier aaron fr sight seeing.overall fabulous place and gratifying . central location ideal fr shopping .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had high hopes staying in this 5 star hotel, but next time I would prefer a different one.
PROS:
++ excellent staffs, courteous and they do whatever it takes them to assist you and make your stay memorable and comfy.
Rooms were properly lit, balcony was quite decent, 2 restaurants, good location.
Office table to work and complimentary WiFi
Decent Indian breakfast but can be improved
I am giving 3 stars for above things
NEGATIVES:
why I took 2 points from this hotel:
1. Utter disappointment when I had breakfast.
They don’t know how to make croissant, it was like Khakri with cream.
2. Utensils in which they keep food, I can see scratches on them which turned me off and that’s why I am writing this long. Not expected from 5 star hotel.
3. Headboard was smelly, when I complained they changed my room
4. My kid found medicine behind the night stand table, glad that she didn’t eat that. Housekeeping was overlooked.
5. Mobile charging point should have been on both sides of bed, unfortunately they had on one side only

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed here for a friend's wedding, the hospitality was impeccable, the rooms do have a bit of a dated look, but I guess that's part of the charm. The location is quite central so easily accessible, but the hawkers in front of it are a bit of a put off.
Food and service were great during our stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ate at ban Thai. The service was great. The food was amazing. Ideally ask your server for recommendations. We tried two new things. The steam fish on coriander broth and a mix Chinese vegetables in soy garlic sauce. Both were exceptional. Their yellow Thai curry is made from scratch in house and another lovely dish. We had multiple things and all were very good.

I especially liked my quiet room facing the garden:) Fantastic restaurant, excellent breakfast, and tasty coffee - all served by kind and smiling staff. Thank you very much for the great stay and for the surprise birthday cake that went really well with a cup of your tasty cappuccino:))

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situated at the heart of Kolkata you really don't need to spend much on travel, tons of market and food right outside the premises. The entire property is interestingly sound proof, the architect back then did a beautiful job with comfort, convenience and practicality in mind. The hotel team is super courteous and would always go an extra mile to make your stay memorable, beat its house keeping, restaurant, pool cafe or reception. Even the security guy gave us directions to nearby places. Overall a super 10/10

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As one of the oldest hotels in India it was a short but wonderful stay. The Hotel was grand in every way. Spacious and clean rooms, specially polite and friendly staff and good food. The amenities were too notch. Toilette articles were up to mark. Grand Dame of The City of Joy!

The food tastes great.
