★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean and well maintained ferry ghat..newly launched jetty coming up....one way you can go upto kuthighat (sintheemore.kolkata) another route goes belur math to THE MAA BHABATARINI MANDIR DAKHSHINESWAR .ANYONE CAN ONE ALSO AFFORD TO GO TO HOWRAH AND BAGBAZAR ...IN DIFFRENT ROUTE
SERVICE IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED ..LAST RIDE AROUND 7.40PM IN NIGHT...its awesome to visit TO MAA ER GHAT TO THE BHABATARINI MANDIR..JOY MAA

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unique experience of crossing Hooghly river from Dakhsineswar and Bagbajar. Both government and private vessels are available. But my advice is to go for government vessels. I wish government department entrusted with this service evaluates saftey issues specially for the evening ferry service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ West bengal state government operated jetty service near belur math, here you can board a jetty to Dakshineswar kali temple at a nominal cost of only rs.11 , it will take you to dakshineswar in around 10-15 minutes under Nivedita bridge over river hooghly.
The jetty ride is truly amazing and if you are a first timer you are in for a serious fun experience.
I would suggest you avoid road for to and fro between belur math and Dakshineswar kali mandir, as it is time saving, cheap and amazing.
The jetties run in a time bound manner every 30 minuted from both jetty stations and the ticket counters are opened since morning 6am to evening 6pm.
You can buy to and fro tickets from any one point and board the jetty to avoid any hassle.

There are small boats also available that take more time but are more frequent.
I would suggest jetties to save time and feel much safer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are two types of boats. One is a smaller one, run on a small gas run motor, capacity 15-20, which is the local people bread and butter (photos attached) and the other is a big 100 seater 30 feet long ship, run by government. The smaller boat takes around half an hour, while the ferry takes 10-15 mins. If travelling to explore Kolkata, I would suggest take both once to get the feel of it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well managed and very clean ferry ghat. But ferry service are decent because timings between 2 ferry's are too long, If you miss any one ferry to front of you then you awaited much longer for the next one.
There was a inside toilet for all. And inside business food vendors are sell there foods. Also drinking water available there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Over crowded and service is less frequent to the destination. Each 30 minutes one boat. Though travel is smooth and hassel free. It won't struck in trafic and price is very economical.
Frequency of boat arrival departure should be increased in peak hours and Sunday / Holidays
