★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From this junction you can go many ways by train.You can go towards (main line)Barrackpore;Naihati; Kalyani; Ranaghat; Krishnanagar; Shantipur;Gede;Lalgola ,towards Barasat;Habra;Bongaon ,towards Dankuni, towards Sealdah, towards Budhe Budge, towards Majherhat.
Don't know why sometimes when the train arrives then they announced about the arrival.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is most vital railway station of main line of sealdah section . This station is very busy all the time because most of the people takes metro from here . Beside that Bongaon section Dankuni section and circular rail diverted from here .There are so many shops on the platform sometimes creates difficulties for the passengers to board the train .

Two lines branch out after Dum Dum – the Calcutta chord line to Dankuni and the Sealdah–Hasnabad–Bangaon–Ranaghat line to Bangaon and Hasnabad. The Dum Dum metro station is adjacent to Dum Dum railway station. It is located in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It serves Dum Dum and the surrounding areas. The popular Sealdah Rajdhani Express and Sealdah-Bikaner Duronto Express pass through DDJ (despite not being a stoppage to such trains).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is one of the oldest metro station in Kolkata. Till 2017 approx it was the last station. But afterwards there are other station constructed beyond dumdum. This is the station where the local station that is dumdum junction situated beside this metro station. So it is the most popular station & builts connectivity between north Kolkata area with south Kolkata area. The price of the tickets are also affordable. Location of this station is very convenient, just at the middle area of dumdum area. There is a big parking yard outside this station. People can come here by autos, rickshaw, bus, etc. This station is well connected by broad roads. The behaviour of the staffs are also good. Please come to this clean station for a good experience.

But be alert as there is a mixture of so many train routes..Sometimes Up and down lanes are very much confusing.
Need to focus much on the cleanliness of the whole premises. Please note that..Overcrowding in foot over bridge can lead serious accidents. Adjacency of Dum dum Metro railway station really helps a lot!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the busiest and biggest station in sealdah main line. The location of the station is good, but the main road beside this station is always crowded. From this station one can catch the train for lalgola, bagula, bongaon, shantipur, ranaghat, Krishnanagar, dankuni, BBD bag (by Cirular rail) , and many more destinations. Metro railway station is also in same complex. But station has less ticket counter and number of trees on the platform is reduced by cutting.
