Fat Tiger, the dimsum and a tea shop brand launches in the City of Joy at South City Mall Food Court! @fattigerindia They have international flavoured hits -- right from cold iced tea topped with liquid cream cheese, crushed fresh fruit tea, dessert tea and more. The momo and dimsum preparations take inspirations from spice levels from Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, regions of Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh. The group is also playing with packaging with tea being served in reusable cups, while dimsums can be consumed using tongs, instead of chopsticks. Taking cue from the food industry turning greener, Fat Tiger uses double-walled paper straws and environment friendly take-away bags. They specialize in delicacies which may have originated outside India but are now very much a part of the Indian eating culture and the Indian diaspora. What I had : Kukure Bombs, Italian Momos in red sauce, Raspberry & Black Current Iced Tea, Veg Noodles with Kung Pao Chicken. Recommended by #kolkatadelites Follow me on Instagram : @kolkatadelites

I loved the overall presentation of the food and use of completely recyclable materials. Recommended Items: Any of the coolers, Kurkure Momo and Green Thai Curry Combo. The food is really good and priced very reasonably. It was overall, a lovely experience there. Thank you Fat Tiger for inviting me over to your place.

Discover the new Oriental flavours at your favourite Tea shop - Fat Tiger Why I love North India? The mountains, forests and wildlife is what makes me crave to go back to the hills. Furthermore the pleasant weather and hot slurpy food is what makes me fall in love furthermore. The warm steaming batches of Momos, the slurpy thick noodles, the tea that makes you composed. Yes, I am talking about Oriental flavours yet again which has a conscientious love when my gastronomic cravings are concerned. One of the newest additions to the food map of Kolkata - The Fat Tiger brings to you the food of the hills and adjoining countries of China, Tibet, Thailand and so much more. Where? Fat Tiger has been launched at the food court of the South City mall. What's it about? Fat Tiger is a brand that reintroduces Kolkatans to delicacies which may have originated outside India but are now very much a part of the Indian eating culture and the Indian flavour profiles. It is conceptualised on the ideology that dimsums and tea are pretty much good-to-go. The idea is to launch phenomenal array of fantastic varieties of Oriental delicacies in their trendiest and coolest avatars. I love the concept of this being primarily a Tea shop which is a perfect hangout option in food court malls. The amazing plethora of good food that it serves will surely make you crave for more. What did we try? Dimsums: Chicken momo Kurkure non veg momo Italian momo with white sauce Chicken Baozi Chicken Sogo XLB-Xialongbao Mains: Noodles with orange honey Chilli chicken Steamed rice with Green Thai curry Orange rice with Kungpao sauce Beverage: Peach and Jasmine Cheese cap Purple Haze Mojito Fat Tiger Brownsugar milk What you shouldnt miss? Chicken Baozi - Eating a steaming hot and soft and fluffy steamed bun stuffed with chicken charred, these Chinese dumpling hail from Guangdong province of China. The spicy red sauce along with it serves the whole crave to be answered. Chicken Sogo - This is a Tibetan dumpling much to our delight, this is made into a flat dough and made into layers along with the chicken. This is a more crispy version of momo, Sogo momo is the truest sense tastes wonder. XLB-Xialongbao - These are small basket buns famous for its delicate skin and scrumptious soupy filling all the way from Jiangsu province, China are a hybrid of Baozi and Jiaozi, having the shape of Baozi but using non-leavened wrappers like Jiaozi kills it will the soup inside the dumpling. Heaven indeed! Steamed rice with Green Thai curry - With a bowlful of veggies done in coconut milk and fresh green chillies, the Thai Green Curry native to Thailand has a flavourful journey to boast about when teamed with the aromatic Jasmine rice. Orange rice with Chicken in Kungpao sauce - The orange zest and tanginess of the rices complements the spiciness of Kung Pao Chicken that comes in from the dried red chilies in the stir-fry. A perfect mains to complete your Oriental cravings. Purple Haze Mojito - This is indeed a beautiful mess of lavender and blueberry with a punch of the blue Tea turned into a fresh mojito, refresing as never! So if you are looking for diving into good Asian food with a wide array of good beverages to team along with it. Think no more as Fat Tiger is there to roar louder to meet the glutton in you. Cheers!

I had a mixed experience, hence the 3 stars. I had ordered Kurkure momo and a boba tea (forgot the exact flavour). The momos tasted awesome and I didn’t mind the fairly high price. However, the bubble tea was a different issue. For just that one glass, which wasn’t even filled fully, the price felt exorbitant! Moreover, they had put in at least a whole tray of ice (no less than 14-16) which made the drink very watery and tasteless. I had to scoop out the ice cubes after a few sips!!

FAT TIGER is the newest outlet to open inside the South City food court. Visited this place few days back and the outlet offers some lovely bubble tea and coffee. There are also some unique beverages. The momo and dimsum preparations take inspirations from spice levels from Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, regions of Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh. This is I feel really a good thinking to avoid the plastic and run a business without causing any damage to the environment. A big kudus to the concept. Coming to the Drinks 1- Tiger pink lemonade 2- Tiger brown sugar milk(Recommended) Now coming to the food which i had, 1- Steamed momos 2- Steamed Baozi 3- Italian momos with white sauce(Highly recommended) 4- Kurkure bombs(Recommended) 5-Chicken thai green curry(Recommended) 6- Chicken kung pao. Sohrab Sitaram - who started the Keventers Milkshake Brand in 2015 recently came up with a Tea Shop and Dimsum brand - Fat Tiger Their Kolkata Outlet is started in Food Court in South City Mall from 22 nd of July 2020. Well the first impression after looking at their modest outlet was not as lavish as it ended up being , after trying their mouthwatering beverages and dishes. They have indeed a plenty of option to order from. First of all let's discuss the beverages that we tried Even after being a Tea Shop they have a very thoughtful menu card. The beverages are really innovative and it really tastes amazing. Most of their beverages are new and it's tough to find out their substitute. We were fortunate to try out their following options: > Purple Haze Mojito - Its really a refreshing drink prepared with blue ice tea , mint , lemon and brown sugar. > Peech and Jasmine with Cheese Cap - Melted cheese to top your beverage. Wow it sounds crazy for cheese lovers and trust me Fat Tiger has just fulfilled your wish in their signature drink. > Rasberry and Black Currant Mojito - This is their yet another signature drink served with cheese cap , Black Currant Ice Tea , Rasberry Syrup and Orange Slice. It has a very sharp flavour which you are bound to enjoy with their plethora of momo and Dimsum options. > Tiger Brown Sugar Milk - From their options of Milk Based Drink , we have selected this exclusive variant which is made with Boba Pearls and Tiramisu Syrup. The question that striked our mind was what's a Boba Pearl - Well Google and Mr Krishna helped us decode the same. It's a Cassava Starch which is a Root Vegetable from South America. Without going deeper into it , we would just like to mention that it's a must try and the most important point is that beverages are served in reusable glass with paper straws. In the Momo and Dimsum segment we were served > Steamed Momo - We relished the perfectly cooked steamed momo with a hot and spicy chutney. The most important point that we noticed is that the momo's are steamed in Combi Oven. > Kurkure Momo - Their most famous and hot selling momo is their Kurkure Momo , which is deep fried with a coating of corn flakes. > Baked Momo - Nicely baked with Alfredo Sausce , Oregano , Chilli Flakes and Loads of Fresh Cheese. It's really soft and tastes awesome. This is the best baked momo that I have tried till date. All the above variants of momo have 5 pieces in it. > Bouzi Momo - The bouzi bun is fermented with yeast and then filled with Chicken , Zucchini , Red Onion , Spring Onion , Ginger and Garlic. It has a strong flavour and if you are found of trying new stuff then this is surely going to be your best pick. Now let's talk about their meals segment > Thai Green Curry with Steam Rice - This is the most healthier meal option that they are having in their menu currently. The Thai Curry is perfectly cooked with Baby Corn , Brocolli , Ginger and Mushroom. > Orange Rice with Kung Pao Sausce - This is their most hot and spicy meal option. The chicken is nicely cooked in Kung Pao Sausce with loads of Red Chilli , Spring Onion and Bell Pepper. They garnish it with roasted peanut. This is a must try and needless to say as per my taste buds this is my best pick in meals segment. > Hakka Noodles with Orange Honey Chilli Chicken - Noodles is nicely cooked with Bell Pepper , Onion , Spring Onion and Mix Sausce. Chicken tastes awsome in Orange Honey Sausce. We just fell in love with this dish. Their portion size is to good. We highly recommend this shop for casual dining to all our foodie friends. They separately store their veg and non veg ingredients and we liked the kitchen hygiene they are maintaining aswell.

Sip onto Bubble Teas with Bobba Pearls, Iced Teas with Cheese and devour juicy dumplings @ Fat Tiger, Kolkata.! With the culinary landscape of Kolkata always on the rise, there wasn’t perhaps any better time than to introduce something new and afresh to the people of this city. Amidst the scare and turmoil of the ongoing pandemic, people were expecting a change of flavours, to cheer their spirits up. Fat Tiger, a Delhi based brand, which was by one of the founders of Keventers and two others, has now found its way into our very own city of joy. Set up inside the food court of South City Mall, this humble yet power-packed QSR, serves some of the delicious dimsums, bowls and drinks. One of the main USP’s here would be Cheezo’s, Iced Teas served with cheese on top. Then you have the Bubble Teas made with Boba Pearls, something unique and unheard of in Kolkata. The offerings range from the regular juicy Momos to the whole wheat Momos and then the Fried Kurkure Momos. If you prefer something humbler, the Baozi’s, Shogo Momos and Xialong Bao (Soupy Momos) are available to tantalize your tastebuds. Served in eco-friendly plates, you are promised the best attention to hygiene and cleanliness. The Steamed Chicken Momos we tried, transported us straight to the hills. Thin layering, with juice oozing out of these Momos, the sauce on the side packed quite a punch. The Kurkure Bombs were quite crispy, almost true to its name. The filling was a substantial one, but I liked more the crunchy layer of the outside laden with the right amount of seasonings. The Italian Momos to come next was a fusion of the Chinese dimsums with the Italian Alfredo sauce, something which might catch you by surprise, but the combination was well worth licking the spoon once again. Moving on to the more traditional dimsums, the Baozi, which is usually referred to as any hollow buns made with yeast, so as to give a rise inside had the ones made here with whole wheat. The larger sized Baozis are usually called Dabao (although this is referred here as Baozi itself), while the smaller ones are called Xiaobao. Xiaolongbao, a type of Baozi and originating from Jiangsu province, were the juicier ones, due to the presence of the meat broth inside these dumplings. The broth usually breaks down while steaming, thus attributing a more flavourful texture to these Baos. The Shogo Momos, something popular in Tibet, was an adaptation to the original potato filling, the texture of the wrapper being a bit sticky as it should be. While the Noodles with Honey Orange Chilli Sauce and the Orange Rice with Kungpao Sauce were bursting with flavours and aroma, it was the Steamed Rice with Thai Green Curry with Veg which won our hearts and mind. The subtle balance between the tangy and sweet, and not overdoing on the coconut milk kept us hooked all the way through. While the Dimsums had their own appeal, the drinks were equally lucrative. Talk about the Purple Haze Mojito, Peach and Jasmine with Cheese Cap or the Fat Tiger Brown Sugar Milk with the combination of Caramel, Cream Cheese and Bobba Pearls were anything like we have ever had before. Served in disposable cups, they were cute by itself, and can even tempt you to carry them back home. Bursting with flavours and uniqueness, try this place if you crave for something new and exciting! #icedteas #cheese #creamcheese #bubbleteas #bobbapearl #dimsum #momo #shogo #xiaolong #baozi #wholewheat #fattiger #fattigerkolkata #whenstomachtickles
