β β β β β Howrah Junction is the largest and busiest station in India with 23 platforms and more than 600 trains. It also one of the most oldest stations in India. This station was built by Britishers and Indians. It is among the five intercity stations in Kolkata with the others being Sealdah, Santragachi, Kolkata and Shalimar. It is adjacent to the holy river Ganga. Howrah Station has several amenities such as food plaza, restroom, government owned hotel, free Wi-Fi, prepaid service center and many more. The nearby attractions of this station are Howrah Bridge, Howrah Rail Museum, Belur Math, Botanical Garden, Mallick Ghat, Princep Ghat, Millennium Park, Metcalfe Hall, General Post Office Kolkata and many more. Though I have mentioned five to six places there are above than hundred attractions in Howrah itself. This station is historical as many rebels and legends of India used to travel from here and helped in making India independent. This station is the economy holder of Kolkata as trades happen from here. We can reach here from several parts of India either by bus, metro, train, ferries, rickshaws, cabs or autos.
