It took 1hr or 1hr30mins for any applicant to complete their interview because of the batch system they have according to time slots. Usually they begin from 9:30am and complete all interviews before noon 12. Most of them ask basic questions related to your visa and documents and they just verify the data like dates of marriage or location of your visit. Success rate for the interview is 99.99% just keep calm.

After the pandemic there has been a scarcity in the number of slots released but if you have a genuine case you will be considered for an emergency request. The staff here is very professional and efficient. Though the queue here is very long because number of people applying for a visa from the embassy is very large. Overall it was a good experience.

Well, I visited the embassy today. Though my passport was returned as the visa could not be issued and there is requirement of additional documents, but the overall experience was great First you are security checked. Except documents/ wallet anything else is not required. Mobile phone, smart watch etc is not allowed. You either keep it with someone or they can keep it for you in safe shelfs upon a small fee payment Second the passport is scanned to see if all is in order Third once again there is a security check. More the way they do at airports. Fourth you are in front of document check counters and where they check and let you wait for interview to happen Fifth and final for those who get the visa is the interview. It’s their way of judgement on whether you really need to travel or not. So if you can’t convince. You are handed over the passport back or else they keep it to issue visa Sixth if they are fine with your travel but need more details they ask you to submit documents and thereafter the process may restart (I need to submit documents so next steps are now not known) Overall very polite staff

I stayed at The Ashoka Hotel which is very near to U.S Embassy. The main reason I booked the hotel was it was walkable (it's expensive though). Since, it is of walkable distance, I didn't take my mobile phone or anything, just only the required documents. My appointment time was 8.40 AM. There is a waiting spot opposite to the U.S Embassy. It also has a locker there. By April 2022, I asked the people around me, who kept their bags, they charged 150/- for bags and 500/- for laptops and big baggage. They started with 7.30 AM appointment. For 8.40 AM appointment, I reached by 7.00 AM. So when they asked for 7.30 AM appointment, I already stood in the 7.30 AM appointment, when I nearly entered the building, I told mine was 8.40 AM appointment, they said it was fine. By 7.45 AM I was inside the building, so there were three queues, it was moving pretty fast there were all combination of people standing there ( H4, F1, H1B and special Visas). There was a counter before the actual counter. The first counter, they check whether we have the necessary documents. Then again, there is a small queue before the actual counter. There you have a mic, so no issues. You will clearly hear everything. I believe, on that day, we had only 5 counters open. So many people were waiting for the interview. The interview lasted for 13 minutes. My appointment time was 8.40 AM, I came out by 8.35 AM. The process was easy and tension free. Note : The person standing before the first counter, tells you what documents you have to keep handy, so better listen to it to avoid standing before the counter and searching for documents. Everything will be smooth once you have all the specified documents for the interview.

The process was smooth, fast and very well organised. They ask you to be prepared with necessary documents in advance based on your visa category while you are still waiting in the queue so you don't waste time searching for them when you are at the interview counter. Efficient process that values everyone's time. Also, they actually do have a seating system in place while you wait for your interview turn which is cool.

There are lockers for storing your phones/iPads/laptops (β‚Ή50 per phone as of 04/04/2022) You can also store your backpacks by the lockers, backpacks are kind of out in the open though, not securely locked in lockers/room, but seemed safe enough (not sure about the price, but I’m sure it’s reasonable too) The locker/backpack storage facility is not run by the embassy but a private party. Overall experience was good. System of waiting, forming lines for entering, security check could be improved.

United States of America Embassy at Panchsheel Marg, Shantipath (Chanakya Puri), New Delhi, India. I am asking about this of today I'm talking about this more than two decades. The Que in the US Embassy had a longest in the early morning. Thousands of peoples are waiting for their turn to submit their documents. Only security person treat to submit the document including fees. If the persons are lucky they deposit their documents for the next process and other will try next day from the early morning. The next day process was very disturbing to the visitor because the visa interviews were on going in front of other visa applicants. Some applicants were happy to get their visa and others have some questions about their application. Was really fake applicant apply visa application through the right ways. I was doubt because there are number of person who has obtained their US Visa and have gone illegal migrant in US. later than they have gotten green card or US citizenship. Is really US embassy analyses the Visa application to obtain the visa or just read the face (which could be manipulated). 1- Is it not good practice:- a) Illegal migrant should not get any green card or US citizenship anyway. b) After Visa expired, the search should not be conducted. c) Any unknown person found without record should not be traced and deported the its countries. (Any illegal migrant should not have legal right to file any legal case against their citizenship). This practice could relief unusual practices like to analysis genuine visitors. Those really want to expose the country. To check funding is a good practice but lack of trust on applicants it is not good to make refusal.
