Easy hike of 40 minutes to the fort. Fortification is very good. Gate is very huge. There are light poles installed on the way which are lit in the night. There are temples on the fort. Some lakes are there but no water in the summer.

Very easy to reach the top. A good trek for beginners. Concrete path is available for reaching. No water facility at the top. The temple above the fort is open maximum time but the main gate inside the building may or may not be open.

Save and best place to come with kids and family ? especially for beginner trekkers it will be a best place ? view from top ? amazing ? now concrete pavement also available ❣️at top there are temples and a "chor margha" nothing much special to visit ? a bit thrill and risky while walking on fort guard walls ???

Vardhangad is a small fort near satara. Once you reach Vardhangad village, just park your car near the stone taki near base (which has a parking space alloted). Near the stone taki you can see cement steps, just follow those to reach a ruined bastion of the forts which has a small Hanuman idol. After following the cement steps where at one point cement steps end and a old fort trail starts. After about 5 mins on the old trail you will reach the Gaumkhi mahadarwaja of the fort. Take right once you enter the fort. While there is Dwaj kathi on a prominent bastion to your left on the fortification. After taking right, follow the trail for 2 mins to reach shiva temple on your right, while the left trail goes to top. After taking left from shiva temple you will see Rock cut water tank (taki) and a hanuman temple. There are more 20-30 steps to reach the highest point from hanuman temple. The highest point of the fort has a very spacious Vardayani mata temple. Temple premise is very clean. It is manage by the local villagers. Behind the temple there is a small open temple of Hanuman, Ganesh and Various other deity. Take the left trail from open temple to reach 2 rock cut tank on the west end of the fort. One can walk the whole fortification. There is a Dwajkathi at the west end of the fort. It will take an hr to explore the whole fort. While it will take 20-30 mins to reach the top from base.
