★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An ancient temple which is about 1000 year old. A temple of Maa Durga. Here the Godess Durga is worshipped with her whole family. A calm & quiet place. Environment is also clean. Radhe shyam Temple is in front of this temple. Lalji mandir is also nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An excellent temple is called Maa Mrinmoyee temple is located in Bishnupur, Bankura.Goddess Durga is being worshipped here. In the temple complex, the statue of Kalipada Singha Thakur, last King of Mallabhum dynasty may be seen. Nice shops of local handicrafts are also there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mrinmoyee Temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is situated in Bishnupur at Bankura district. It is a very old temple and is rich in heritage. Durga Puja which is observed every year in this temple is over 1000 years old. It is unbelievable, but true. It gets this name because of the fact that the Malla dynasty used to rule then and it was under their governance that this temple came up. It is the oldest Durga Puja in Bengal and it still beholds its rich culture, in an undiluted way. History of the Mrinmoyee temple - Raghunath was crowned as the first king of Malla dynasty at Pradamnapur. King Jagat Malla shifted his capital from Pradamnapur to Bishnupur because of the latter’s better positioning with respect to safety. Bishnupur is mostly famous for its terracotta tradition, but it also proudly is the place where the oldest Durga Puja of the state happens. King Jagat Malla established the Mrinmoyee temple in 997 AD. Actually, Jagat Malla was ordered by Maa Mrinmoyee to build this temple, in his dreams. The idol is made of Ganga clay. The 57th generation of the Malla dynasty is there at present.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a sacred temple for Hindus. Malla King Jagat Malla built this temple 1023 years ago to worship Mata Durga ( Goddess of power and protector). Mata Durga is worshipped in many forms and Mrinmoyee is one of her major form.
Due to adequate focus of local, this temple hasn't lost its charm. Mata Durga or Mrinmoyee deity stays with the temple for 24×7×365 unlike other Durga temples which are submerged after festival ends.
Every day you will see lots of devotees are there to worship the Mata.

Operational hours: 9AM to 8PM.
Direction: It's wise to reach this temple from busstand and from busstand to this temple it's just 1.5 km and situated just opposite to Radhashyam Temple.

The ten-armed Ranchandika Mahishasurmardini as the idol of the goddess. The Sri Vigraha and the temple built by Sri Sri Mrinmayi Mata Ganga in the city of Bishnupur, the capital of Mallabhum. On the day of Krishnanavami, 15 days before Mahasasthi, the annual Durga Puja begins with the firing of cannons at the rusted hills in front of the temple.
