Outram Ghat is a ghat built during British Raj, along the river bank of Hooghly. It was built in late nineteenth century by British authorities in memory of Sir James Outram. During colonial era it used to be a key port. It is located near the Eden Gardens Railway Station. Nice place to spend time here.

A popular place for public, but hawkers have captured most of its part. Bad behavior by boat drivers also there.

Kolkata is located by the side of water bodies. There are several ghats (riversides) in the city, of which a popular one is the Outram Ghat. The history and glory of this particular ghat can be traced back to times of the British reign in India. In those days, this place was a perfect place for rendezvous and evening jay walkers. It was also a preferred port of call for many foreign cargo vessels.
